Hi, everbody.
Now I have learned a little about York.
This is a city with a lot of history.
It turns out that York is a Viking town. The Vikings were Norwegian and there are still traces of them in the city. The Vikings called York for Jorvik.
They also have a Viking festival here in York.
In York, the streets are called "gate" the same as in Norwegian.
They also have some of the same words as we have.
They say "Barn" meaning Child,
"Leik" meaning play,
"Rive"- scratch
"Bleik"- meaning pale
So there are traces of the Vikings in the language.
Here is a picture from a street in York.
They also have a chocolate factory here. It was here that they made the chocolate KitKat.
It is a pretty good chocolate.
