I have left Europe.

I have left Europe and gone to Africa.
I have actually travelled south on the continent to a town called Cape Town.
Cape Town is located in a country called Republic of South Africa. It is the largest country in Africa, 52 million people live here. It is the 25th largest country in the world.

How many people live in Norway?

I have reached the top on a mountain called Lion`s head.
Here is picture of me from Lion`s head.

Here is the flag of South-Africa

Enjoy the summer in Norway. Down here we have winter at the moment.
Winter is not like it is up north. Here we have a lot of rain and wind. If there are clouds around Lion`s head, it is a sign that rain is coming.

Guess what?

Guess where am I?
After Hege travelled to Bergen, I met a nice family from Holland/Netherlands.
They wanted to take me on a trip to a river called Veluwemeer for a familiy weekend.

The family took me to play tennis. I've never played tennis before, have you?

I also got to try playing a new board game.

It was nice weather here, so I also enjoyed the sun on the trip.

We are also planning a new trip.
I hope you all are doing well at School.
See you later.

Time for new adventures.

After one week in York, I and Hege said goodbye.

Here I am at Gatwick airport.

Hege has travelled home to Bergen and I am now waiting in Gatwick to find new travel companions.

It will be exciting to see if I meet some kind people who can help me discover new places in the world.

York and Vikings

Hi, everbody.

Now I have learned a little about York.
This is a city with a lot of history.
It turns out that York is a Viking town. The Vikings were Norwegian and there are still traces of them in the city. The Vikings called York for Jorvik.

They also have a Viking festival here in York.

In York, the streets are called "gate" the same as in Norwegian.
They also have some of the same words as we have.
They say "Barn" meaning Child,
"Leik" meaning play,
"Rive"- scratch
"Bleik"- meaning pale
So there are traces of the Vikings in the language.

Here is a picture from a street in York.

They also have a chocolate factory here. It was here that they made the chocolate KitKat.
It is a pretty good chocolate.

My first trip.

Hi friends.

I am on my first trip out into the world. I'm going to York.
Where is York ? Well, York is a town in England.

There are about 210,000 people living in York.
The reason I am going to  York is that Hege(teacher) is going on a study trip.
She will visit the University of York which is a large school. Here she will learn more English so she can teach you English.

When travelling to York from Bergen, we are going to fly to Gatwick airport in London. Then we need to travel by train to York.

There are a lot of exciting things to see when we are travelling.

Here I am with Hege at Bergen airport.

Here are the view from the plane over England and Norway. There is a difference.

More updates are coming.

Do you know where York is? Where is New York?

York og Vikinger

Hei Haukedalen.

I York heter gatene: Castlegate, Fossgate, Munkgate.
De sier også ordene: Barn, leik, klegg, to kile, to rive, bleik.

god.

Her er utsikten over England                                  Her er utsikten over Bergen. Se forskjellen.

Det var spennende å fly

Kommer snart med mer oppdateringer til dere.
Hvor ligger York? Hvor ligger New York?

Who is Bobby?

Bobby the travelling bear is a travel companion for class 2B at Haukedalen school, which is located in Bergen. Bergen is the second largest city in Norway but we have discovered that the earth is so big and exciting that we want to experience more.

The class wants to travel around the world to learn about different languages, people, cultures and geography, but it's a bit difficult with 26 students and two teachers. That's why we are sending our teddy bear Bobby out on an adventure.

This is Bobby

We hope he meets kind people who can help him further in the world.
If you meet Bobby we hope you can:

• Take a picture with him to send it to us.
• Tell about yourself and where in the world you and Bobby are and where you are heading.
• If you want he can be with you on a small trip, but when the trip is finished it is great if you place him at an airport or train station so that he can meet new people and travel on.

If you send us information, we can use it for teaching about the map, examine cities, languages, cultures and learn about how other people are living around the world. We can discover how big the world actually is.
We also want to update our blog so that more people can experience the wonderful world we live in.

He will start his journey from Bergen airport soon. We look forward to an amazing adventure

 This is Bobby-Dette er Bobby.
